6th Grade - Answer the following questions on SPP: You added sodium carbonate solution to the copper chloride solution. Both of these solutions are liquids:
a) What is a precipitate?
b) Where do you think the solid came from when you added the two solutions together?
c) How were the properties of the products (stuff that formed after mixing solutions) different from the properties of the reactants (solutions before they were mixed)?
d) Did precipitation work for removing the contaminant (copper chloride) from water? Explain, using evidence from the activity.
8th Grade - Per. 5 - Answer the following question on SPP: What do you know about evolution? Answer using a minimum of 5 well-written sentences, using RAVE: (Restate question, Answer it, use Vocabulary, and Explain using Evidence or Examples).

Welcome back from vacation!
6th graders: Research Earth Day and write a reflection on it, at least 3 good sentences. Be prepared to state one fact (not mentioned by another student )about Earth Day in class tomorrow.
8th graders: Should the Asian Elephant be saved? Prepare one argument for, and one argument against, and write it on the back of the handout from class. Also, research Earth Day and write a reflection on it, at least 5 good sentences. Be prepared to state one fact (not mentioned by another student )about Earth Day in class tomorrow.

Nitrates 10 ppm
Copper 1.3 ppm

1. What other information do you wish you had known before making a final decision?
2. Write a letter to the National Government Council stating your recommendation for which of the four missions to fund? Convince the council with evidence you gathered in this activity and unit. Be sure to present the trade-offs of your recommendation.
per.6 - Fill out the T-chart giving at least one advantage and disadvantage for each of the 4 proposed missions (A - Pluto, Unpiloted; B - Mars, piloted; C- Titan Unpiloted; D - Moon, piloted).

All students - Update your science notebooks, and complete any work from 3d quarter that you have not yet turned in for evaluation no later than tomorrow.
