Pers. 6, 1 & 2:
Homework tonight: answer Text-Based Questions for"It's Not the Heat, It's the Humidity"

Thursday, September 26, 2013

A. Reflection (“The Design Process”): You just went through a process of
 designing and building your structure.

Draw a picture of your structure.  In the writing that goes with it, be sure to answer:

1.How did you originally choose to design your structure to resist the wind?

2.How did the structure you built differ from your design?

             3. (After testing) What parts of your design seemed to resist wind?

B. If you have not already done so, you still must finish homework from earlier this week:
You've had 4 days to do this homework.  Make sure that this is done before lab starts next week:
1) We are preparing for a lab activity in which you will point a heat source light at two plastic trays containing water or sand, and record the temperature every few minutes. Prepare for our lab activity by writing a(n):
     a) hypothesis (prediction: What do you think will happen in the activity?);
     b) procedures-(steps you will follow during the lab); and
     c) data table - a place to record information you get from this activity.

Make an effort and show me that you did your homework. It doesn't matter if its right or wrong, it only matters if you tried to do it. No prep, no lab.

2) (ALL CLASSES) Record Daily Weather Data. Yours may or may not be checked tomorrow but will be due on Monday. Use the fourth Link for today's weather:
 http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=41.053430,-73.538734&MR=                                                  and for yesterday's weather, use the ninth link:                                                                http://www.weather.com/weather/pastweather/USCT0218
