  • learn about human body systems as we classify organs and
  • may develop a 3-dimensional model of several systems
Key words: Write key words in notes. Also, write these vocab words & definitions in vocab section: 
  • Function - The specialized activities performed by a system, organ, body part, or device.
  • Model - An object or event can be represented (picture, sculpture, idea, or program) to understand one thing that can't be studied directly. Ex: atom, weather.
  • Organ - A collection of tissues which performs a certain function (job).

  • Structure - The way that an organ or body part is made up, including its shape and tissues.
  • Organ system- several organs working together to perform a function. Ex: digestive system is a group of organs that work together to break food down into usable chemicals and energy.
