Check out the Quizlet for Cell Bio and Disease at the top of my Links column (Over that way)--->

Homework
1. For Friday's test, Answer all questions you can on the study guide. I encourage you to work with your study buddy.

2. Please copy the following vocab terms into the vocab section of your science notebook Do not ignore writing one of the terms just because it's in gray text, because I sometimes can not control some text colors on the blog.  Check before you start each term to see if you already put that one in your vocab section (so you don't accidentally write it twice):

Bacteria - single celled organisms that do not have a nucleus or other membrane-bound organelles.

Cells- the basic unit of structure and function that makes up all living organisms. Enclosed in a membrane.
Cell Membrane - structure that separates the cell from its external environment.
Cell Theory (a/k/a "Cell Principle") - All living organisms are made up of cells. New cells are made from existing cells.
Cytoplasm - material that fills much of the inside of cells.
Germ Theory- each infectious disease is caused by a certain species of microbe.
Hereditary - diseases caused by cells that don't work right, and pass the defective information along when they reproduce. (more later -leave space)
Infectious - can be spread from one person to another.
Multicellular - organism made of more than 1 cell.
Nuclear Membrane - structure that separates the nucleus from the rest of the cell.
Nucleus - control center of the cell, this contains DNA (leave space, more info later).

Organelles - cell structures, often surrounded by a separate membrane, that perform a specific function.
