All Classes -
Feel the Beat project (Due 12/15/17).  Day 1 -
Work with your partner to choose the activity you will use to explore its effects on pulse rate. Be sure to make your choice so you can sign up (partner & variable) on Monday.

Tentative schedule: Feel the Beat
Mini-lessons and homework assignments:

  • 12/4 Start your Lab Report.  Write a Problem and Hypothesis about the activity that you're doing for Feel the Beat.  To write a:
    • problem, ask a question about your activity and what it will do to your pulse (heart rate). Since you are writing a question, it needs a question mark at the end.
    • Hypothesis, you are making a prediction that you can test. The hypothesis must start with the word "If" and it must have the word "then" in the middle. The part that starts with "If" is about what you will do (the change you make). The part of the hypothesis that starts with "then" is about the result you expect (what you predict will happen).
  • 12/5 Design: Variables, Procedures, Materials (needed for experiment, and what you'll need for your poster)
  • 12/6 Data Recording - Run your experiment and fill in your Data Table
  • 12/7 Data Analysis including Graphs
  • 12/8-12/10  Catch up or work ahead (remember, e.c. for early turn in)
  • 12/11 Conclusions
