6th Graders' Homework for tonight:
HW pt 1: we discussed Recording Daily Weather form. Use top 2 Links to right --> on my blog, please record yesterday's (9/11) weather data on your sheet.


HW part 2: If you didn't already, then fill out "Comparing Temperature Scales" on the back side of your Weather Data Collection Form. The bottom left blank should read "0 degrees F ". Use the following web site to convert that number to the Celsius measurement: http://www.mathsisfun.com/temperature-conversion.html. On the bottom, write out and complete this sentence: "The Farenheit scale is part of the _________ system of units, and the _________ scale is part of the Metric system of units."

8th Graders: Homework for tonight: Draft page 1 of your lab report, including: 
* Problem or question;
* key vocabulary; 
* Variables; 
* Background Information. 
Tomorrow's homework is page 2 (Hypothesis through Observations).
Your completed Lab Report must be typed and handed in 1 week from today (Wed. Sep. 19)

1. Energy is transferred in many ways from 1 object to another, like when a foot hits a soccer ball.

2. There are 7 forms of energy in everyday life: heat, sound, light a/k/a electromagnetic, electricity, electrochemical, nuclear & chemical.  All forms of energy can be characterized as either kinetic or potential.

3. One way to gather data is through observations, by using your 5 senses and devices that assist them. Accurate and complete observations are important to making conclusions about the natural world.
