6th Graders' Homework for tonight:

HW pt 1:  we discussed Recording Daily Weather form.  Use top 2 Links to right ----> on my blog, please record yesterday's (9/12) weather data on your sheet.

HW part 2:  You have a current event form with an article on it.  If you don't have the article, then please use the following article: http://news.yahoo.com/why-hurricane-season-peaks-today-204213878.html

8th Graders: Homework for tonight: finish the Draft of your lab report, including:
* Hypothesis;
* Materials;
* Procedures;
* Observations
* Data Table
* Errors /Mistakes;
* Conclusions/Analysis of Results - If you don't know what to put here, just put in a heading and a sentence starter; we'll talk about this tomorrow.

Your completed Lab Report must be typed and handed in no later than Wed. Sep. 19.

Please email me (engrade or at my email address top of this page or on the "Resources for Students" sheet in your Science Notebook) if you have any questions or concerns, or you want me to look something over and help you revise what' you've written.

"Take Away:
1. Energy is transferred in many ways from 1 object to another, like when a foot hits a soccer ball.
2. There are 7 forms of energy in everyday life: heat, sound, light a/k/a electromagnetic, electricity, electrochemical, nuclear & chemical. All forms of energy can be characterized as either kinetic or potential.
3. One way to gather data is through observations, by using your 5 senses and devices that assist them. Accurate & complete observations are important to making conclusions about the natural world.
